Wysing Arts Centre has re-opened with a curated exhibition showcasing its 24 resident artists. We are also organising a benefit drawing show with contributions by many of the artists we have worked with in the recent past including juneau/projects, Shezad Dawood and Guy Bar Amotz.
From March 2008 our public programme will reflect and also question our rural location through a series of exhibitions and events under the umbrella title 'Communities Under Construction' and featuring artists such as public works, Chemi Rosada Siejo and N55 - all of whom have completed or are in progress with residencies at the centre. The programme takes the villages surrounding Wysing as its starting point and aims to ask questions around the realities of rural life. The programme is very much focussed on bringing the villages surrounding the Centre into the making of artwork which will then be exhibited nationally and internationally.
