X-Operative, X Marks the Bökship

For our gallery exhibition, X-Operative, we have invited specialist bookshop, publisher and project space X Marks the Bökship to set up shop at Wysing for five weeks.

Fourteen Leverhulme Arts Scholars have been using Wysing's gallery as an expanded studio during July and August. Come and see an exhibition of the new work they have produced on 21 & 22 August, 12-5pm. Evening reception to mark the close of their residency Thursday 22 August, 7-9pm, all welcome.

A strange cross between a butchers shop and a nightclub 26 May – 7 July 2013 

Jonathan Baldock’s first solo exhibition in the UK for three years will include an entirely new body of work initiated during his residency at Wysing last year; large-scale felt sculptures, ceramic objects, corn-dolly masks and hand-made wall prints. The exhibition includes costumes produced by Baldock in Shanghai earlier this year, alongside meticulously crafted knitted and crocheted sculptural growths. Open daily 12-5pm. Relatively Absolute is a group exhibition that brings together new work created by artists-in-residence during 2012, alongside source material that has informed its production which is presented amongst the finished pieces but not attributed to the artist whose work it has influenced.
