Trained as a lettercutter, public artist and art historian, Bettina Furnée’s work developed through private and public commissions towards a contemporary art practice, which is rooted in notions of site and uses language as its primary material. Her project If Ever You’re in the Area www.ifever.org.uk" target="_blank">http://www.ifever.org.uk/">www.ifever.org.uk took place at two arts venues and coastal sites in East Anglia, and included moving image and ephemeral works. She staged a live word association game Powerhouse at Cambridge University Library www.powerhouse.me.uk" target="_blank">http://www.powerhouse.me.uk/">www.powerhouse.me.uk as part of a short residency at Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge in 2008. She has been involved in many public art projects over the course of her career.
