as the weekend quietened down and I got the chance to go out and see some artists studios for myself - as they were all looking their best - i visited Oliver Hein’s new space in the newest studio block building and found myself walking around his new installation. A large blue and black rectangular installation which features a breathing blue material within a black material with holes in it - i was around the back with wysing artists chris wood and helen judge and we were collectively experiencing the breathing feeling and adjusting to the light and the space around the piece. Our conversation due to other factors was drawn to death - particularly close family members - this installation seemed the perfect place for three friends to be discussing something quite emotional and personal to themselves and was extremely cathartic and quite private despite the over 1000 visitors that had maybe been through Oliver’s studio across our first Open Weekend and Launch event.Â
