OPEN WEEKEND Celebrating the launch of the Cultural Olympiad 26-28 September

The weekend of 26th – 28th September kicks off a four year celebration of culture.

We are delighted that Wysing Inside Out is part of Tate Modern and ICA’s Out of Bounds season, to celebrate the launch of the Cultural Olympiad. This event is part of Out of Bounds, a season of art events taking place at Cornerhouse, the ICA, Tate Modern and a number of other contemporary art spaces. All of the activities employ hidden, backstage and non-public sites at the participating institutions, spaces that are already ‘owned’ by the public but which the public cannot usually see.

Wysing Arts Centre will mark the launch of the Cultural Olympiad with a unique chance for artists and young people to collaborate and use the newly opened media studio to create short 1 minute films which will then be publically screened on Saturday 27th September as part of ‘Wysing Inside Out’ an exhibition that reveals the unseen spaces at Wysing.

A One Day film workshop, facilitated by 4 film artists who work from studios at Wysing Arts Centre will be open to Dilpoma students. Artists will work with up to 15 young people (14-19yrs) in small groups to create and edit four one minute long films inspired by themes addressed in Wysing Inside Out.
There will be a Public Screening Saturday 27th September between 4-5pm.
