We are looking for a Support Worker to provide access support to Wysing’s Assistant Curator, who is deaf. The support will mainly comprise of attending meetings or online talks with the Assistant Curator, to take notes of that meeting and provide a follow up de-brief afterwards to ensure that the Assistant Curator has all of the necessary information and action points from the event.   

Meetings and talks may happen either online or in person (occasionally offsite).  Hours will be variable each week and the Freelancer should be available flexibly, although Wysing will endeavour to give 7 days notice for online/on site at Wysing meetings, and 2 weeks notice for meetings that may be at other locations around the country.  

Access Support Worker

The Freelancer shall be expected to maintain Wysing’s confidentiality at all times given their access to internal organisational discussions and information.   

The role will be subject to review after 4 weeks to ensure both parties wish to continue.  

Hours: 11 per month, delivered flexibly 

Pay: £16 per hour  

Location: Hybrid. Some aspects of support can be delivered remotely, but some site working may be beneficial and the support worker may be asked to attend occasional off site meetings. Site premises are Wysing Arts Centre, Fox Road, Bourn, CB23 2TX  

Reports to: Assistant Curator 

Contract manager: Deputy Director
