DAY OF LIVE PERFORMANCE AND SCREENINGS
A day long event exploring some of the themes within Wysing's current gallery exhibition The Starry Rubric Set. With performances from:
Emma Smith, ∆E=W. An ongoing project developed from a series of experiments involving touch, the gaze and spatial harmonics. Developed in collaboration with Artsadmin.
Francesco Pedraglio, The Evidence of an Object. Focusing on both the conceptual and practical difficulties of storytelling, and reflecting on the idea that any narrative, as much as it creates dependency for its listeners, relies on their interpretative will.
Cally Spooner. A reading of the score for a new theatre production on the possibility of not performing.
John Latham, The Government of the First and Thirteenth Chair as reinterpreted by Mark Aerial Waller with students from Norwich University College of the Arts. A performance of Latham’s original script and stage directions. Developed in collaboration with Elisa Kay, Hana Noorali, Claire Louise Staunton, Flat Time House and NUCA.
The day includes a screening programme for a glow in the dark surface, put together in collaboration with Gil Leung of LUX and artist Ed Atkins. In addition Mark Essen will show a new video work that forms a short interruption to the day’s events.
Booking is essential on info@wysingartscentre.org or 01954 718881. This event is FREE and we are considering organising transport by coach from London (£18 return) and Cambridge (£8 return) if there is enough demand. If you would like to take advantage of this then please let us know when booking.
