Please join us for an informal, positive and inspiring creative evening for teachers.

Teachers are invited to come, relax, share, think, talk and make.

Future Imaginings: Teachers INSET

Come and enjoy Wysing’s first exhibition of the 2014 Programme, Annals of the Twenty-Ninth Century, a group exhibition consisting of newly commissioned work by artists who worked at Wysing during 2013 as part of the centre’s artist residency programme: Anna Barham, James Beckett, Keren Cytter, Cécile B. Evans, Michael Dean, Gustav Metzger, David Osbaldeston, Seb Patane, Charlotte Prodger, Florian Roithmayr and maker-in-residence Rupert Norfolk.

Bryony Graham, Producer, Children and Young People Programme at Wysing, will host the evening and studio artist Elena Cologni will lead activities designed to inspire your own creativity along with your teaching practice:

Using the early 20th century Dada movement as a starting point, Elena will share collaborative activities to investigate how chance and unpredictability can help us imagine our future. Practical thinking exercises will open up new approaches and new ways to appreciate and respond to our ideas and expectations of tomorrow.

This is an opportunity to explore ideas about working cross-curricula with Maths, English, Languages, Art, Philosophy and Science and explore how this approach can be taken back into the classroom. Participants will also be able to visit our onsite work spaces and so understand better how schools, students and Wysing may work together.

Refreshments will be provided, tea, coffee and cake on arrival and wine as the evening closes.

Suitable for teachers of any age group and subject.

Places are free. Booking recommended.
