One day workshop
Sunday 18 September 2022

This one day workshop is for adults who want to bring creativity back to their lives, enjoy time outdoors in nature and work with freedom to express their creative ideas. You’ll work with paints and different kinds of collage material to build your own nature inspired composition.

What you will learn:

  • How to overcome the blank page
  • Gain confidence in experimenting with mixed media/recycled materials on paper
  • Learn how to create a balanced harmonious composition by observing the details in nature

Safety Notes: Please note that this workshop takes place outdoors in the grounds of Wysing and will go ahead whatever the weather (if it's really bad we'll move indoors). Please wear sensible shoes suitable for uneven ground and consider sunscreen or waterproofs depending on the forecast.

Tutor biography: Laura, aka Art in the Burrow, creates mixed media paintings inspired by art forms in nature. Laura aims to create eco-conscious pieces too, reusing materials and incorporating collaged pieces from previous experimental work.  It wasn’t until the pandemic and the experience of furlough that Laura made the leap to become a full-time artist and provided community workshops funded by the Arts Council England Cultural Recovery Fund.

Laura graduated in Fine Art Painting at Norwich University of Arts in 2004 and MA Museum Studies at University of Leicester in 2011. Her work has been exhibited across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk and she is a member of Cambridge Open Studios and part of the Ely Markets craft community. She currently tutors and facilitates art workshops at Haddenham Arts Centre, The Stained Glass Museum and runs a new monthly evening Sketchbook Wednesday Club in Ely.
