Join us over half term for a series of workshops inspired by our new exhibition. Working with Wysing studio artist Bettina Furnee, we will explore the exhibition and make artwork using texts, slogans and symbols. Join us for one, two or all three workshops.
Tuesday 30 May 10.30-12.30
Experimenting with text, instructions and word games we’ll create our own slogans and messages. Using paint, stencils and collage we’ll design and create our own posters that will be displayed around the site.
Wednesday 31 May 10.30-12.30
Exploring language and stories we’ll create our own characters and story boards. Using writing, drawing, and copying we’ll create our own booklet or comic, and combine all our stories together to create group zines.
Thursday 1 June 10.30-12.30
Working with symbols, codes and signs we'll explore secret languages and hidden meanings. Using painting, stencils, drawing and sewing we’ll create designs and messages on a cotton bag that can be taken home.
