Club Urania returns for its 2025 Autumn season on Friday 12 September in Cambridge.
Club Urania is a monthly night of live performance, readings and screenings that brings together a richly eclectic mix of artists from backgrounds in visual art, performance, theatre, live art, drag, experimental music, burlesque and many more, all on the same line up. Performances are followed by DJs and dancing until late.
We’re delighted to announce that this season, Wysing’s slot will be programmed by guest curator Samra Mayanja, who is also part of Wysing’s 2025/26 Residency programme.
Samra Mayanja is an artist working across performance, installation, film and writing. They also organise The Call Centre, a monthly performance programme concerned with the voice and the unspeakable that takes place in Mayanja’s studio in Hackney. Selected projects include Dead Dad Death Cult, Transmediale, Berlin (2025); Touch Me, Serf, Leeds (2024); All Islands Connect Underwater, CCA Glasgow; and Bone Deep Deliverance (SCREAM II), LIVE Biennale, Western Front, Vancouver (Both 2023).
The night, has been running (and selling out) since 2022 is co-organised with Cambridge Junction, and queer organisers in Cambridge: Celia Willoughby and Roeland van der Heiden. Further details about Mayanja’s programme are coming soon…
