I am the Warrior

If you are aged between 15 and 25 and creatively make things – which could include ceramics, collage, costumes, carving, embroidery, fanzines, fashion, games, masks, music, painting, performance, photography, poems, sculpture, songs, stories, videos and more –  we are inviting you to take part in the open exhibition I am the Warrior.

Call for Contributions: I am the warrior

I am the warrior is an ongoing project by artists Juneau Projects which celebrates creativity and making in all its forms. If you are aged between 15 and 25 we invite you to bring your art to be exhibited on specially designed structures in our building Amphis as part of our exhibition Hey, I’m Mr Poetic. I am the warrior has been developed by Juneau projects in collaboration with Wysing and Kettle’s Yard’s Circuit young peoples' group.

Items for submission can be brought to either Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge or Wysing Arts Centre up until 31 May. Kettle's Yard is open Tuesday - Sunday 11.30am - 5pm. Wysing Arts Centre is open every day 12-5pm.

Circuit is a four year national programme connecting 15–25 year olds to the arts in galleries and museums working in partnership with the youth and cultural sector. Led by Tate and funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, it provides opportunities for young people to steer their own learning and create cultural activity across art disciplines.

I am the Warrior Closing Party & Workshops
Saturday 31 May, 4 - 9 pm

If you are aged 15-25 and interested in getting creative come and join us on Saturday 31 May, 4 - 6 pm,  for an afternoon of free drop-in printing and sculpture workshops led by artists Juneau Projects and the Circuit group. Inspired by the current exhibitions Hey, I'm Mr Poetic and I am the warrior, you’ll have the opportunity to create fashion prints and create an outdoor sculpture using both man-made and natural objects. We will supply all materials but you can bring any item of clothing you wish to print on.

The workshops are followed by the I am the warrior closing party - an evening of live acts and free food and drink, 6 - 9 pm. Join us for live performances, music, dance, and readings and a final chance to view the exhibition curated by Circuit and which includes contributions from Ben Arrowsuch, Tamires Gasparetto, Scarlett Holingworth, Hannah Kershaw, Amy Prebble, Ash Summers, Hayley Whittingham, Fergus Pain, and Juneau Projects. All are welcome – the event is free and there’s no need to book.
