Mo Costello is an artist and educator drawn to the social life of objects. Her practice revolves around the maintenance of small-scale, community supported infrastructure for the visual and performing arts. Working through photography, site intervention and exhibition making, curatorial and studio-based efforts emerge - and often converge - from within this ongoing commitment to place-based inquiry and infrastructures of care.
Mo Costello lives and works in Athens, US. Recent projects include Forming sounds with my mouth to approximate something that’s like a flood, Atlanta Centre for Photography (2025); A Long Slant of Light (with Ian Lewandowski), Real Tinsel, Milwaukee (2023) and Beverly Buchanan, J&J Centre, Athens (2023). Costello in residence at Bemis Centre for Contemporary Arts, Omaha, and Denniston Hill, New York, in 2024.
